MLC Land Holdings is a privately held, unique, and diversified company which owns and manages timber and land holdings primarily in eastern North Carolina and Virginia. MLC’s strategy has been to increase their timberland holdings while improving the quality of each and re-investing in sustainable working timber lands.
Based in eastern North Carolina MLC is managed by Bob Conger. Bob has spent almost all of his life in the forest products industry. Bob insures that MLC maintains a strong commitment to increased values of each asset applying best practices and silviculture to control forest establishment, composition, structure, wildlife habitat, and water resources.
The company’s resources and growth potential is further enhanced by the addition of Cody and Lewis Conger, both professional foresters to the staff. The combination of these men enables the company to expand their commitment to the stewardship of the company properties and allows MLC to increase the services provided to customers. Our experienced team offers customers a unique family approach in assisting them with timber sales, forest management and related services.
Bob has over 40 years experience in the forest products industry. His experience covers production, sales management, export, and timber resources.
Bob now serves as the Manager of MLC land Holdings. He recently was the Managing Partner in Conger Enterprises, LLC. He served as President of Eastern Hardwoods (a division of Northwest Hardwoods Inc.) , a manufacturer of Appalachian hardwood lumber with 5 locations in Pennsylvania and west Virginia. Prior to running Eastern, he served as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Coastal Lumber Company for almost thirty years where he oversaw all domestic & international sales efforts for Coastal’s 19 sawmills in the Eastern United States. Bob spent his first year as a college graduate working for Ramax Machinery Company. He holds a B.S. from North Carolina State University and resides in North Carolina.
Bob has served on the board of the National Hardwood Lumber Association and currently on the board of Coastal Forest Resources Corporation.

Cody is a fourth generation Conger in the forest products industry. He started working as a procurement forester for Coastal Lumber Co during high school and continued with them through college at NC State University. After receiving a B.S. in Forest Management/Natural Resources in 2011, he went to work full time at Coastal Forest Resources as a land manager in the Mid-Atlantic Region. In 2014 Cody joined Canal Wood as a procurement forester and worked with them for 3 years until recently joining the new family business, MLC Land Holdings. Cody resides in North Carolina. He enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and is an avid outdoorsman especially golf, fishing, and hunting.

Lewis, also a fourth generation Conger in the forest products industry. Lewis has grown up within the industry. Lewis graduated from NC State in 2013 with a bachelors degree in forest management. Lewis is a NC Registered Forester. He spent summers working in the industry and as a student he interned with Coastal Forest Resources in West Virginia as well as North Carolina.
Upon graduation he started working for Michael D. Neal and Associates as a consulting forester in 2013. In 2014 Lewis went to work for Louisburg Hardwood Company as a procurement forester where he spent 3 years.
Lewis is excited to join MLC Land Holdings working with his father and brother. Lewis resides in North Carolina and enjoys spending time with wife and daughter. Lewis loves any chance to fish and hunt.
